When I was 13, I got a camera from my parents. It was a Yashica with two zoom lenses. I was allowed to set up a dark room in the basement to print the pictures I was taking. I have spent whole days and nights there and taught myself the principles of this great profession. I never looked back and after completing a thorough education at the Academy of Photography and after several years as a freelance assistant for top photographers in the Netherlands I can call myself a professional photographer for over 20 years now.
The profession has changed in that time, but my fascination with the medium has not diminished. Over the years, I found out what I’m good at and what energizes me. It is mainly the people I am allowed to photograph and with whom I can work on that one image with the right look for the intended purpose.

Under the name ‘Het Zakelijk Portret’ I shoot portraits for all kinds of businesses. Entire teams or departments at the clients location or a personal session in my studio with individual employees or entrepreneurs. I like doing it all. At the end of the day, it’s about the connection with the person in front of my camera. The image usually develops all by itself.
This stop-motion gives you an idea of what my location set looks like. This allows me to create a light arrangement to professionally portray you and your colleagues, without the work having to be interrupted for a long time.
If you want more information or if you want to discuss your project any further, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Of course you’re always welcome for an individual session in my studio in Amsterdam.
